The Challenge
A Halifax Biotech company required a central Reverse Osmosis system to deliver water to nine points throughout its facility. Each of the points are separated by individual clean rooms as well as significant distance. They contacted the team at High Purity Water Services to design and install a system to could provide and distribute the water.
Distribution loops can be a challenge for many contractors, but HPWS has extensive experience in both their design and installation.
Our Solution
The HPWS team decided that the most suitable RO system would be an Elga Centra R200 as it is compact but powerful. From the Centra, a distribution loop was designed which travels above the clean rooms and drops to the points of use. This distribution loop circulates constantly to reduce the chance of bacterial growth in stagnant water.
To ensure zero bacteria growth in the loop, HPWS used zero dead leg (ZDL) valves for each point of use. ZDL valves are an advanced valve technology which eliminates dead space in a valve when closed, this prevents stagnant water within a valve which is not frequently used.
The result is a clean and aesthetic ultrapure water system installation that meets all customer requirements.
